Man and Dog rescued from SSP Vehicle Fire

​April 29th, 2017- Bay Shore, NY- At 1941 hours on the evening of April 29th, the Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance Inc. was activated for a motor vehicle accident involving a rollover and potential vehicle fire on the Southern State Parkway. First en route upon activation was Captain Anthony Garcia Jr. Quickly there after the Duty Paramedic Garry Ritter and the Crew of 3-24-18 responded. The responding crew consisted of Ex Chief Noah Fisch, Crew Chief Holly Maiforth and Probationary Members; EMT Jesi Hart and Kaitlyn Deutsch. 1st Assistant Chief, Joe Frisina and an additional ambulance with Paramedic Alex Mullin and Driver Dan Belding also responded.
Captain Anthony Garcia Jr. Was the first on scene reporting to both Suffolk County Fire Rescue & Emergency Services and the Bay Shore Fire Department that there was a confirmed fully involved vehicle fire into the trees on the left side of the Southern State Parkway. After a 360 of the scene and speaking to witnesses, it was confirmed that all occupants were removed from the vehicle prior to EMS arrival by bystanders. Those saved include the driver of the vehicle and his pet dog.
Paramedic Ritter stabilized the patient while waiting for the arrival of the crew of 3-24-18. The crew then transported the patient to Southside Hospital as the Bay Shore Fire Department suppressed the Fire. Upon completion, the scene was turned over to the New York State Police for investigation.
Congratulations to the crews of Bay Shore Brightwaters Rescue Ambulance, Bay Shore Fire Department and the New York State Police for a job well done. Additionally, we would like to recognize the brave bystanders that quickly recognized a dangerous situation and assisted in getting both the driver and his pet out of the car.

Living in bayshore is a nightmare thanks to the duel Incompetance of the fire dept and ambulance companies.
Next time please remain on your barstools when a call comes in, it will do the community a world of good.
